the weight of: A burden of worry or responsibility


e.g. He carries the weight of the world to continue fighting.


expectant: Having or showing an excited feeling


e.g. The expectant crowd cheered when he scored a goal.


Example 2:


But the Socceroos rallied and almost inevitably it was the irrepressible Tim Cahill that came to his Australia’s rescue, extending his national team scoring record with a 33rd minute equaliser.


rally: Come together again to continue fighting after a defeat


e.g. The army rallied and finally they won the war.


equaliser: A goal that levels the score in a game


e.g. He became the best player of his team with an equaliser.


Example 3:


China keeper Wang Dalei played a pivotal role in China taking all three points against three-time champions Saudi Arabia...


a pivotal role: An important role


e.g. She played a pivotal role in winning the game.
